Who We Are

Hello there! My name is Kristopher Jordan, the owner operator of Contraptify 3D.Contraptify 3D is a veteran-owned design and FDM 3D printing studio operated under J.B. Automation Controls, LLC. The LLC name comes from a business once owned by my grandmother, and carrying it forward is part of the story behind Contraptify 3D.My background in manufacturing started early, running Bridgeport milling machines and lathe turning centers around age 14 and learning how to bring blueprints to life with precision in mind. That interest eventually grew into CNC programming, CAD design, and practical 3D printed problem-solving.Contraptify 3D was built around that same idea: turning real-world problems into useful, functional parts.

What We Do

Contraptify 3D focuses on functional FDM 3D printing, custom part design, replacement components, and practical printed products for the home, shop, office, and small business use.Current work includes durable refrigerator door bin replacements where OEM ones are either hard to find online, or continue to break due to their brittleness, desk and workspace accessories, sink trays, tool box organizers, wall decor and small home organization products. For custom solutions, everything is based on collaborating with our clients so we have all the exact concepts and measurements at the start of every job. Requests are accepted locally and through our online request form. Depending on the project, parts can be designed from scratch, reverse-engineered from an existing sample, or modified from a customer-provided idea.

MATERIALS & PROJECTS

While some of our products use PLA for decor and novelty items, most products are made using durable FDM materials such as PETG, ABS, ABS-Glass Fiber (GF), ASA, ASA-Carbon Fiber (CF), and flexible TPU.Material choice depends on the intended use. PETG is commonly used for refrigerator and household parts, ASA or ABS may be used for stronger functional parts, and TPU is often used for flexible components like ergonomic grips and inserts.Contraptify 3D also supports practical design projects beyond standard catalog items, including custom brackets, organizers, replacement parts, jigs and fixtures, and prototypes. Some ongoing work also includes printed components for larger mechanical product projects, where 3D printed parts are used alongside traditional hardware and fabricated assemblies.
